Carlisle tournament Sunday 24/11/24
Goals galore in the final Minis tournament of the calendar year!
Fortunately the weather forecast was wrong and Keswick HC had a pleasant morning at a cool and breezy Carlisle HC. ?
With tough match’s against some strong Wigton, Penrith and Carlisle teams, Keswick U10s did brilliantly well and managed grab 3 score draws and steady win to go the morning unbeaten.
Thomas, Toby, Truly and Pip all stood firm in defence, making sure Dylan only had to make a few saves as he made his debut in goal. While Mr Mylo played the hybrid running wherever he wanted to role (?), Kane and Charlotte linked up very well in midfield and attack to pass between themselves and score lots of impressive goals. Well done troops! ?
On to the U12s and they had equally as tough games against the same opposition.
Rosa, Caitlin, Lucy, Pip and debutant Zac all understood each other well with swapping and changing, taking turns in defence and midfield. All while Emilie and Blair showed off their silky skills and passing to grab the team some well deserved goals.
Striker turned goalkeeper, Kane, made some outstanding saves, including one of the best I’ve seen at a Minis tournament. A low but fast dive down to his right, just and so tipping the ball round the post with the end of his stick to prevent his team from conceding!
A loss, 2 draws, 2 wins and some beaming smiles made it an all round good day. Again, well done troops! ?
Thank you grown ups for making the effort to travel through early on a Sunday morning and to cheer them all on from the sidelines.
Thanks to all, Shaun
